Julianna McConnell
Julianna McConnell is the President and CEO of The Preston Group, Inc., a government relations firm focusing on services in the areas of domestic minor sex trafficking, mental health, developmental disabilities, and miscellaneous women and children’s issues. She has served as a registered lobbyist in Georgia for over 25 years, including 20 years as a utility lobbyist.
Julianna has served as the government relations representative for Street GRACE for the past 5 years where she has lobbied to strengthen Georgia’s laws in order to eliminate the domestic minor sex trafficking of Georgia’s children. She is the Vice Chair of the Georgia Commission on Women and serves as their Legislative Chair. She was one of the original members of the Commission and was originally appointed by Governor Zell Miller in 1992. Julianna serves on the Statewide CJCC Human Trafficking Task Force, formerly the Governor’s CSEC Taskforce. Julianna served on the PTSA boards for Suwanee Elementary, Lanier Middle and North Gwinnett High Schools. She is currently an active member of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce. Julianna also has served on the GEMC Federal Credit Union Board of Directors for over 35 years.
Julianna has a degree in Accounting/Finance and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of West Georgia. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a 2013 graduate of Leadership Gwinnett. She was actually the 3rd female to earn an Accounting/Finance degree from UWG.
Julianna is an active member of 12STONE Church where she served as one of the volunteer pioneers to help launch the Sugarloaf Campus that opened in January 2014. She has served as an usher for 12STONE Church for the past 6 years and is an active member of her 12STONE Small Group.
Julianna and her husband have lived in Suwanee, Georgia for over 28 years and they have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. Julianna enjoys spending time at the beach with her family and close friends where they enjoy scuba diving, fishing and just relaxing on the beach. She also enjoys reading, especially her Bible.
