Susan Whiddon

Susan Whiddon was born and raised in Colquitt County. She and her husband, David, live on a small farm near Norman Park with two Labrador Retrievers and a Boykin Spaniel. Susan has three sons, Eric, Grady, and Hunter, and four grandchildren who love spending time on the farm! Susan is passionate about families and children. Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle appointed her to the Georgia Commission on Women in 2013. She focuses her attention on issues concerning at-risk children.

Susan has a Master of Education from Valdosta State University. She retired after teaching in the field of Early Childhood for 32 years. Susan loved teaching and always took a special interest in her students, especially the at-risk children. So much so, that upon her retirement she pursued her dream of starting a nonprofit organization. She is president and founder of Titus Ranch, Inc., a Christian ministry whose purpose is to recruit and train mentors through the local church and facilitate moments for mentors to share with at-risk children and youth by providing scholarships for activities such as art lessons, music lessons, swim lessons, day camps, extended camps, etc. within the community. Susan is a member of Weeks Chapel United Methodist Church where she leads a ladies’ Bible study.

Susan enjoys reading. She enjoys non-fiction and especially books with a focus on spiritual/personal growth and leadership. Gardening is another favorite pastime. She loves observing nature’s beauty both in the flower gardens that she cultivates and the birds and butterflies they attract.
