Our Vision

The Vision of the Georgia Commission on Women includes the following:
  1. Violence Against Women – Georgia will have a social environment in which women and children are safe from domestic violence, sexual assault, or elder abuse in the home, the workplace, and on the streets.
  2. Healthcare – Georgia will have a statewide healthcare system which offers equal access to service, information and research with regard to special healthcare needs of women.
  3. Education – Georgia will be the “education state” which values education and offers quality and access to vocational and academic education, regardless of age, gender, or economic ability.
  4. Childcare – Quality childcare will be accessible and affordable for all Georgians.
  5. Employment/Labor Force – There will be no limitations on employment opportunities, equal pay for equal work, and no sexual harassment or violence in the workplace.
  6. Employment Securities – Women of Georgia, regardless of age or employment status, will enjoy sound economic status to maintain their human dignity.
  7. Welfare/Workfare – Georgia's welfare system will provide individuals with skills and training needed to succeed on their own, and a safety net for those who cannot work.
  8. Political Participation – Georgia will be a state where local, county, and state government officials are elected, or appointed, based only upon their qualifications.
