Annual Event: GEORGIA'S LEGACY; OLDER WOMEN

Georgia Commission on Women & Georgia Osteoporosis Initiative presented the 4th Annual Georgia's Legacy; Older Women "Active & Alive; Well Past Sixty-Five" Awards Luncheon.

Honoring Ten Oustanding Georgia Women who, though past the usual age of retirement, are still significantly involved & productive.

March 28, 2007 - 10:30 A.M. at Mary Mac's Tea Room in Atlanta.

This is the fourth year that we have honored Georgia's Legacy; Older Women. Ten oustanding Georgia women have been nominated, including one who was recently deceased, as the 2007 Class of Georgia's Legacy; Older Women! Each of them is past the usual age of retirement, but they didn't retire! They didn't stop being productive older citizens, making significant contributions to society, to others...to Georgia. It is with great pride that Georgia Commission on Women and Georgia Osteoporosis Initiative, their Partners and friends, present them at the 4th Annual G.L.O.W. Awards luncheon, honoring them for the dedication, example, accomplishments, inspiration and encouragement they provide for others. Thank you for sharing this important event with us!

PROFILES OF 2007 G.L.O.W. HONOREES:

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OUR 2007 HONOREES! Today we have had a glimpse of the accomplishments of these wonderful women! Because they need to be shared with all Georgians, the Commission on Women, in partnership with Georgia Osteoporosis Initiative, Georgia Women's Institute and our supporting sponsors, will publish a book with pictures and chapters about each of these women, and the thrity-seven others honored in the years 2004, 2005 and 2006. More information will be needed in order to give a closer, more personal look from a historical perspective. They, those who nominated them, friends or family members, may be interviewed to obtain that information. Copies will be made available once the publication is complete. So, stay tuned. Read all about it! "Georgia's Legacy; Older Women!"
