Betty Brady, of Summerville, in Chattooga County, was appointed by Governor Sonny Perdue in June of 2005 to serve the Georgia Commission on Women.
Ms. Brady owns and operates Brady Realty, Inc. She has been in real estate since 1995, and is a Qualifying Broker, and a State Registered Real Property Appraiser.
She earned the prestigious Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) designation in 1999, and was the first board designated realtor in Chattooga County.
Active in community activities, Commissioner Brady has lived in Chattooga County since 1976. She Chairs the Chattooga County Citizen's Meth Task Force which was organized in 2004 to focus on efforts to increase awareness about drugs, employing prevention, treatment and enforcement programs in Chattooga County. Brady is author of "Meth Survivor- Jennifer's Story" which chronicles her own daughter's addiction to methamphetamines, and her recovery. She is an advocate for reduction of meth and other drugs through education, speaking publicly and courageously to civic groups and organizations to help the community cope with the pervasive problem. She is a member of the Commission's Violence, Health and Status of Women Standing Committees.
Commissioner Brady and her husband, Terrell, have been married for thirty-four years. They have two children, and one grandchild.
